Ultimate Fighting Championship hits another milestone with
UFC Fight Night 200, which is now official after the weigh-ins
took place.
While the 200th UFC Fight Night event isn’t stacked like the
promotion’s pay-per-view milestones, it does feature an intriguing
middleweight headliner between Jack
Hermansson and Sean
Strickland. It is joined by 12 other bouts, and not every
fighter made weight. Steven
Peterson came in three pounds overweight for his featherweight
bout against Julian
Erosa, he has been fined 30% of his purse and the bout will
still proceed.
This is the fourth UFC main event for Hermansson (22-6), who is 1-2
in headlining bouts. Since defeating Ronaldo
Souza in 2019, “The Joker” is 2-2 in his last four fights. A
quick submission win over Kelvin
Gastelum and a dominant decision over Edmen
Shahbazyan are contrasted with losses to Jared
Cannonier and Marvin
Vettori. The Swedish fighter will look to get back onto a
winning streak here, and stepped on the scale at 185.5 pounds.
This is the second straight headlining bout for Strickland (24-3),
who is riding a five-fight win streak. Prior to overcoming Uriah Hall, “Tarzan” won decisions over Krzysztof
Jotko and Jack
Marshman while picking up TKO victories over Nordine
Taleb and Brendan
Allen. Strickland looks in great shape in his attempt to keep
his title shot dreams alive, and officially weighed 185.5
pounds.
UFC Fight Night 200 will stream in its entirety on ESPN+. Prelims
begin at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, and the main card kicks off at 7 p.m.
ET/4 p.m. PT.
