Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki‘s first event of 2022 is now set with
two title fights.
Both champions and challengers successfully made weight, although
one bout was changed due to medical reasons. Tomasz
Romanowski was pulled from his bout against Krystian
Kaszubowski. Romanowski has been replaced by Robert
Maciejowski, and Maciejowski will hit the scales later when he
arrives.
Headlining
KSW 66 is a lightweight title bout between champ Marian
Ziolkowski and Borys
Mankowski. Ziolkowski (23-8-1, 1 NC) is riding a two-fight win
streak after dispatching both Maciej
Kazieczko and Roman
Szymanski. Mankowski (22-8-1) has put together three straight
wins after a three-fight skid. Both fighters weighed in at 155
pounds.
The other championship bout will see light heavyweight king
Tomasz
Narkun look to defend his title against Ibragim
Chuzhigaev. Narkun (18-4) is coming off a defeat to Philip De
Fries last year for the heavyweight crown, and he hasn’t won a
bout since November 2020. Looking to claim gold is Chuzhigaev
(15-5), who is on a six-fight win streak. The champion weighed 205
pounds, while the challenger stepped on the scale at 204
pounds.
KSW 66 will stream on KSW.tv on Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m.
