Ex-NBA First Round Pick Royce White to Make MMA Debut at Legacy Fighting Alliance 120

Former NBA first-round draft pick Royce White will make his mixed
martial arts debut against Daiqwon
Buckley
at Legacy Fighting Alliance 120 on Friday.

The promotion confirmed the bout following a report from
MMAjunkie.com
on Monday. LFA 120 takes place at Mystic Lake
Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn., and streams on UFC Fight Pass.
White
announced
that he was making a transition to MMA in 2019 that
coincided with the release of his book “MMA x NBA: A Critique of
Modern Sport in America.”

A 6-foot-8, 260-pound power forward who was an All-American at Iowa
State University, White was drafted by the Houston Rockets in 2012.
His NBA career would consist of three games with the Sacramento
Kings in 2013-14 before he was released. He has since played
overseas and in the NBA Summer League.

Buckley, meanwhile, is a former fullback at Temple University with
a 1-1 mark as an amateur. He last competed in April 2017, when he
submitted Austin
Swoyer
in the third round at Pa Cage Fight 28.
