“We are planning to put on monthly events for the rest of the year
while following the guidelines given from the government,” Rizin
CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara said at a press conference. “I am proud to
announce that we will be holding an event in Okinawa for the first
time in November.”
A former Shoot Boxing champion, Kubota returns to action for the
first time in 14 months. The 2017 Rizin atomweight grand prix
finalist is currently on a three-bout winning streak, with her most
recent appearance coming in a unanimous decision triumph over
Emi
Tomimatsu at Rizin 24 in September 2020.
Yamamoto, meanwhile, is coming off a first-round submission loss to
Ayaka
Hamasaki in a bid for the vacant atomweight crown at Rizin 26
this past December. The 47-year-old Krazy Bee representative has
lost two of her last three bouts after winning four straight fights
from July 2018 to June 2019.
