Joshua
Silveira is the new
Legacy Fighting Alliance light heavyweight champion.
Silveira (6-0) showed why he’s an impressive prospect worth
watching in the LFA
115 main event against Tee
Cummins. The American Top Team product
landed a beautiful head kick knockout just 49 seconds into
Round 1 to claim his first championship. This also marks the first
defeat for Cummins, whose record now sits at 4-1.
In the co-main event, Chad
Johnson landed a
gorgeous soccer kick knockout against Jordan
Heiderman, which was also blatantly illegal. The stoppage came
after just 25 seconds of action and since Heiderman (5-0) couldn’t
continue it was ruled a disqualification win for the Nebraskan. “Big Rig” falls to 6-3 with the failure to follow the rules.
Lucas
Clay picked up his eighth professional win in impressive
fashion over Jake
Kozorosky. Clay (8-1) was able to
sink in a brabo choke in the middle of Round 2 that forced
Kozorosky (5-2) to tap. The end came at 3:11 of the second
frame.
Edwin
Cooper Jr. extended his win streak to three after a completely
one-sided thrashing of Andrew
Johnson. Cooper Jr. (5-1) never stopped attacking and showed
off the wrestling he learned at Jackson Wink MMA by controlling his
opponent and landing several suplexes. Johnson (2-1-1) suffered the
first defeat of his career after judges saw it 30-25, 30-25 and
30-24 in Cooper Jr.’s favor.
Middleweight prospect Roland
Dunlap stayed undefeated by winning a fight he was expected to
win. Dunlap (3-0) cruised to a decision over James
Roland Waller, who is now 3-7. Judges awarded the California
native the fight via scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.
In the opening bout of the night, Miguel
Sanson made a successful professional mixed martial arts debut
against Braden
Pagaoa. Sanson was relentless and ended the fight in exciting
fashion by slamming Pagaoa (1-1) to the ground. Due to his efforts,
Sanson picked up a unanimous win with three 29-28 scorecards.
