Next Generation MMA
rep Molly
McCann
recorded her first win in nearly two years, as she took
a unanimous decision from former Jewels
champion Ji Yeon Kim
in the featured
UFC Fight Night 191
prelim on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las
Vegas. All three judges struck 29-28 scorecards for McCann (11-4,
4-3 UFC), who closed the book on a two-fight losing streak.

Kim (9-4-2, 3-4 UFC) excelled in open space, where she could cut
angles and maximize her boxing skills. However, McCann rarely
allowed her to breathe. The onetime
Cage Warriors Fighting Championship
titleholder crowded her in
all three rounds, shoved her backward, bullied her with forward
pressure and stepped on the accelerator at opportune times,
unleashing powerful hooks from both hands.

The 31-year-old Kim has lost three of her past four bouts.

Unbeaten Shore Subdues Sholinian

Former CWFC titleholder Jack Shore
kept his perfect professional record intact and barely broke a
sweat while doing so, as he laid claim to a clear-cut unanimous
decision over Liudvik
Sholinian
in a three-round bantamweight encounter. Shore (15-0,
4-0 UFC) swept the scorecards with matching 30-27 marks from the
judges.

A late-notice replacement for Zviad
Lazishvili
, Sholinian (9-2-2, 0-1 UFC) never established
himself as a threat. Shore set the tone in the first round, where
he secured a takedown, applied his ground-and-pound and framed an
arm-triangle choke before briefly moving to full mount. The finish
did not materialize, but it soon became clear the outcome was
little more than a formality. Shore spent the final 10 minutes
picking apart “The Ultimate Fighter 29” semifinalist in one-sided
standup exchanges.

The loss was Sholinian’s first since Nov. 15, 2018.

Erosa Choke Submits Jourdain

“The Ultimate Fighter” Season 22 semifinalist Julian
Erosa
submitted Charles
Jourdain
with a brabo choke in the third round of their
catchweight affair at 150 pounds. Finished for the first time in
his 16-fight career, Jourdain (11-4-1, 2-3-1 UFC) conceded defeat
2:56 into Round 3.

A short-notice substitution for Lerone
Murphy
, Erosa (26-9, 4-5 UFC) controlled much of the match with
forward movement and clean punches, many of them directed to the
body. He withstood a knockdown in the second round and switched
gears in the third. There, the
Xtreme Couture
export mixed in close-quarters knee strikes to
the midsection and struck for a pair of takedowns. As Jourdain
tried to escape to his feet, he found himself hopelessly entangled in the
choke
.

Erosa, 32, has rattled off four wins in five appearances.

Resurgent Barriault Handles Lungiambula

Merciless pressure and steady output carried
Sanford MMA
’s Marc-Andre
Barriault
to a unanimous decision over Dalcha
Lungiambula
in a three-round middleweight tilt. All three
judges sided with Barriault (13-4, 2-3 UFC): 29-28, 29-28 and
30-27.

Lungiambula (11-3, 2-2 UFC) executed two takedowns in the first
round and connected on occasion, but he spent far too much time
operating off the back foot. Barriault pushed him backward in all
three rounds and forced him to fight near the fence. The former
TKO
Major League MMA
champion cut loose with two- and three-punch
combinations, integrated a few front kicks to the body and mixed in
some dirty boxing at close range.

Barriault will enter his next assignment on the strength of
back-to-back victories. Advertisement
