Video has surfaced of an altercation in which former Bellator MMA
and Glory Kickboxing competitor Joe
Schilling knocks out a man at a bar.
The incident occurred at a currently unknown establishment, when
Schilling attempts to walk by a bar patron. After Schilling
attempts to push his way past the patron, the man appears to lunge
toward the fighter, which prompts Schilling to drop him with a
quick series of punches. Schilling then walks away while others at
the bar check on the unconscious man.
Schilling himself posted a video of the incident on his Instagram
account, but it has since been removed. The 37-year-old known as
“Stitch ‘Em Up” also posted a statement on the situation.
“Self-defense is apparently not what this country is about
anymore,” Schilling wrote. “Don’t trip, I got the video. Love you
guys, thanks for the concern and support during my life threatening
experience. Big shout out to The Yard Muay Thai for preparing me
for this life threatening situation.”
Schilling concluded the post with the hashtag #f–kracists. The
California native also commented on the altercation on his
Instagram story. It is unclear if police have been involved.
“iIf you think I’m going to be the guy to calm everything down, you
got me f–ed up,” he wrote. “I’m here for the show.”
Schilling owns a 23-9 professional kickboxing record, winning the
Glory middleweight tournament in 2013. He is also 4-6 in MMA, with
his last appearance coming in a third-round knockout loss to
Tony
Johnson at Bellator 229.
