A strawweight tilt between Amanda
Ribas and Angela Hill
is in the works for
UFC on ESPN 24.
MMAFighting.com was first to report the bout. UFC on ESPN 24
takes place on May 8 at an undisclosed location and is headlined by
a bantamweight duel between Cory
Sandhagen and T.J.
Dillashaw. Both Ribas and Hill have verbally agreed to the
fight.
Ribas had a five-bout winning streak snapped at UFC 257, where she
suffered a second-round technical knockout loss to Marina
Rodriguez on Jan. 23. The 27-year-old Brazilian began her
promotional tenure with triumphs over Emily
Whitmire, Mackenzie
Dern, Randa
Markos and Paige
VanZant.
Hill, meanwhile, has been victorious in four of her last six
Octagon appearances, with her two defeats during that period coming
via contentious split decision against Michelle
Waterson and Claudia
Gadelha. Most recently, the former Invicta FC title holder
rebounded from those backt-to-back losses with a decision win
against Ashley
Yoder at UFC Fight Night 187.
