your smart TV, computer, phone, tablet or streaming device via the
ESPN app. It’s all systems go for
UFC Vegas 21, as every fighter has now officially made
weight.
The
Ultimate Fighting Championship‘s busy march through March
continues with 13 fights on Saturday.
UFC Fight Night 187 is headlined by a pair of 18-3 welterweight
contenders, Leon
Edwards and Belal
Muhammad. The card is now official after the weigh-ins took
place this morning, and every fighter eventually made weight.
Edwards is riding one of the more impressive active win streaks
inside the Octagon currently, having had his hand raised eight
straight times. Victories over Rafael dos
Anjos, Gunnar
Nelson and Donald
Cerrone have placed “Rocky” in a prime position for a title
shot if he gets past Muhammad. Despite being out of the ring since
July 2019, Edwards had little trouble making weight, and came in at
170.5 pounds.
“Remember the Name” will try to make sure that fans do just that
with a victory over the top-ranked Edwards. Muhammad is riding a
four-fight win streak, and has won eight of his last 10 bouts.
Recent triumphs over Dhiego Lima
and Lyman
Good have cemented his place as a contender in the division.
The
Roufusport fighter stepped on the scales at 170 pounds on the
dot for his first main event bout inside the UFC.
One fighter initially came in heavy: Ryan Spann
(206.5), who weighed half a pound over the light heavyweight limit
before facing Misha
Cirkunov. Spann returned less than an hour later to
successfully hit the 206-pound mark.
UFC Fight Night 187 will stream in its entirety on ESPN+. Prelim
action will begin at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT, and the main card starts
at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
