Hill hasn’t recovered yet after testing positive for COVID-19.
The
Dana White’s Contender Series graduate was slated to clash with
Paul
Craig in the
UFC on ESPN 21 co-feature, but announced he was positive a few
days ago. On Wednesday morning, Craig took to his social media
accounts to announce that his opponent hasn’t recovered yet and
that the match is off.
Hill (8-0, 2-0 UFC) won his
Ultimate Fighting Championship contract after overcoming
Alexander
Poppeck with punches and elbows at the 4:29 mark of their
Contender Series encounter in July 2019. In his latest cage
appearance, the Black Lion Jiu-Jitsu-representative smashed
Ovince
St. Preux with punches in the second stanza of their 205-pound
co-main event at UFC on ESPN 19. Prior, he defeated with ease
Klidson
Abreu thanks to a first-round TKO victory that was overturned
by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after “Sweet Dreams” tested
positive for marijuana.
Former
Bamma champion Craig (14-4-1, 6-4-1 UFC) forced former UFC
titleholder Mauricio Rua
to tap to his punches 3:36 into Round 2 of their featured light
heavyweight rematch most recently. The first time they met,
“Bearjew” and “Shogun” fought to a split draw at UFC Fight Night
164. In between the two clashes with Rua, the Scottish fighter also
submitted Gadzhimurad
Antigulov via triangle choke in the opening stanza of their UFC
on ESPN 14 encounter.
UFC on ESPN 21 will go down at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Mar.
20. The main event will pit Derek
Brunson against Kevin
Holland in a 185-pound clash.
