Two of
Professional Fighters League
’s biggest stars will anchor the
organization’s third regular season card on May 6.

The promotion announced Tuesday that recent free-agent signee
Fabricio
Werdum
will square off against Renan
Ferreira
in the evening’s heavyweight headliner, while 2019
women’s lightweight champ Kayla
Harrison
will face Mariana
Morais
in the co-main event. The card will feature heavyweights
and women’s lightweights.

PFL 3 takes place at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J., in
a
”state-of-the-art” bubble environment
, with fighters required
to check in 17 days prior to their bouts. The main card airs on
ESPN2 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, with prelims streaming on ESPN+ at
5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT.

In the other two main card matchups, 2019 heavyweight champ
Ali

A former UFC heavyweight champion, Werdum exited the promotion on
the heels of a first-round submission of Alexander Werdum this past
July. The 43-year-old Brazilian has bested some of the sport’s
biggest names while compiling a 24-9 mark, including Cain
Velasquez
, Antonio
Rodrigo Nogueira
, Roy Nelson,
Fedor
Emelianenko
, Alistair
Overeem
and Gabriel
Gonzaga
, to name a few.

The 6-foot-8 Ferreira has compiled a 6-2 professional record since
making his debut in 2013. Most recently, “Problema” submitted
current UFC talent Jared
Vanderaa
in the second round at Legacy Fighting Alliance 74 in
August 2019.

A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Harrison captured PFL’s 2019
crown with a five-round verdict over Pachecho in the finals. The
30-year-old American Top Team product has been dominant in
compiling an 8-0 record since her pro debut in June 2018.

Morais, meanwhile, earned a spot on the PFL roster through the
promotion’s International Qualifier Series. The 26-year-old Parana
Vale Tudo representative is 16-10 as a professional and will enter
her first PFL foray on a three-bout winning streak.
