It appears that Jairzinho
Rozenstruik vs. Ciryl Gane
will now serve as the new UFC Fight Night 186 main event.
Rozenstruik recently announced on social media that the bout had
been moved from UFC Fight Night 187 on March 13 to Feb. 27. Shortly
thereafter, Jiri
Prochazka revealed that his proposed clash against Dominick
Reyes, which was originally set to top UFC Fight Night 186, has
been postponed for undisclosed reasons. The Las Vegas-based
promotion has not officially announced an update to the card. It is
also currently unclear when Reyes vs. Prochazka might be
rescheduled.
The fight has been postponed from February
27th, but I’m looking forward to fighting Reyes in the near future,
and wish him a quick recovery.

After suffering his first career defeat at the hands of Francis
Ngannou at UFC 249, Rozenstruik rebounded to score a
second-round TKO win against Junior dos
Santos in his last appearance at UFC 252. “Bigi Boy” has won
five of six UFC bouts — including other notable KO wins vs.
Alistair
Overeem and Andrei
Arlovski.
Gane earned a signature win at the expense of dos Santos at UFC
256, winning via second-round TKO on December 12 to improve to 7-0
in his young professional tenure. The Frenchman has also bested
Raphael
Pessoa, Don’Tale
Mayes and Tanner
Boser in the Octagon.
Reyes is coming off back-to-back losses in 205-pound title bouts.
After dropping a narrow five-round verdict to Jon Jones at
UFC 247 — a contest many thought he deserved to win — “The
Devastator” suffered a second-round TKO loss to Jan
Blachowicz in a clash for the vacant belt at UFC 253 on Sept.
26. Reyes began his professional tenure with 12 consecutive
triumphs, six of which have come in UFC competition.
Prochazka made his Octagon debut in spectacular fashion, as he
knocked out former No. 1 contender Volkan
Oezdemir 49 seconds into Round 2 of their UFC 251 matchup on
July 11. The 28-year-old Czech Republic native is on an 11-bout
winning streak that includes victories over the likes of C.B.
Dollaway, Fabio
Maldonado and Muhammed
Lawal.
UFC Fight Night 186 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is
also expected to include a light heavyweight showdown between
Nikita
Krylov and Magomed
Ankalaev.
