Mason
Jones, a two-division champion with Cage Warriors, is head to
the UFC.
The European promotion’s lightweight and welterweight ruler
announced the news in an Instagram post. A date for Jones’
promotional debut is currently unknown.
“Friday, Oct. 9 I signed a [four] fight contract with [UFC] the
biggest [and] best mma organization in the world,” Jones wrote.
“The moment when my dream became a reality.”
In his most recent bout, Jones claimed the vacant 170-pound belt
with a first-round stoppage of Adam
Proctor at Cage Warriors 116. One fight prior, the 25-year-old
Welshman claimed lightweight gold with a technical knockout of
Joe
McColgan at Cage Warriors 113.
Jones is 10-0 thus far as a professional, with all but one of those
triumphs coming under the Cage Warriors banner.
