your smart TV, computer, phone, tablet or streaming device via the
ESPN app. Time will tell if Brian
Ortega’s latest transformation is a boon or more akin to Samson
and Delilah.
The
Ultimate Fighting Championship’s latest stint at the Flash
Forum in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, continues with
UFC Fight Night 180. The card is headlined by featherweight
contenders Ortega and Chan Sung
Jung. All 11 fights are now official after the weigh-ins took
place Friday morning.
Fighting for the first time since the lone loss of his career,
Ortega (14-1) will be looking to bounce back and make a statement.
Other than being stopped by Max
Holloway, “T-City” has been perfect inside the Octagon with big
wins over Frankie
Edgar, Renato
Carneiro, Cub Swanson
and Clay
Guida. Ortega stepped on the scales with a freshly shaved head
– doing so for charity
purposes – and came in at 146 pounds.
Jung (16-5) is looking to earn his second crack at UFC gold with a
win. The talented South Korean mixed martial artist is coming off
quick knockout wins over Edgar and Carneiro. His latest setback
came in a memorable main event against Yair
Rodriguez, who knocked out Jung with an elbow with only one
second left in a bout that “The Korean Zombie” was controlling.
Jung had no issue making weight and came in at 146 pounds making
the headliner official.
The entirety of UFC Fight Night 180 will stream live on ESPN+. The
prelims kick off at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, while the main card begins
at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
