The
Legacy Fighting Alliance has announced the lineup of its first
of three cards in October. The promotion made official in a press release on Friday that three
events would take place on Oct. 2, Oct. 16 and Oct. 30 all at the
Hartman Arena in Wichita, Kansas. The LFA
recently ended a stretch of events in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
earlier in September. It is unclear if the LFA will stay in Kansas
after October, but these three will be held in the same arena in
October. Each of the events will air on UFC Fight Pass at 9 p.m.
ET/6 p.m. PT on their respective dates.
LFA
92 will be topped by a sure-fire bantamweight thriller between
Kevin
Wirth (8-1) and Askar Askar
(10-1). Since a split verdict loss at LFA 44, Wirth has rattled off
three wins including a decision over Ryan Lilley
at LFA 74 just over a year ago. His opponent Askar will be looking
to rebound from his first career defeat – a 30-second one-punch
knockout at the hands of Saidyokub
Kakhramonov – in his return to the LFA promotion. The knockout
snapped a 10-fight win streak for the man fighting out of
Illinois.
The co-headlining bout sees ex-Bellator
MMA fighter Andre
Fialho (10-3) make his LFA debut against two-time
Ultimate Fighting Championship competitor Antonio
dos Santos Jr. (8-4). Fialho is currently riding a two-fight
skid with successive defeats in the 2019
Professional Fighters League season and playoffs. Dos Santos
has not stepped foot in a cage since 2017, but his last performance
lifted his career finish rate to 87 percent by smashing Jean
Petrick with an elbow at a Katana Fight card.
LFA CEO Ed Soares was elated about this next stage in the LFA’s
return to form, writing in a statement, “Everyone at LFA is excited
to begin Phase 3 of our comeback in Kansas. We will host three
events in October at the Hartman Arena in Park City, which is part
of the Wichita metro area. Top bantamweight prospects Kevin Wirth
and Askar Askar will headline LFA 92 on Friday, October 2nd. These
are two of the most exciting fighters we have on our roster and
it’s the ideal way to start Phase 3.”
