If
One: A New Breed 3 is any indication, it could be a great while
until someone dethrones One
Championship featherweight king Petchmorakot Petchyindee
Academy.
The defending champion put his muay Thai title on the line for the
third time since winning it in 2019 against Magnus Andersson, with
the two vying for the strap in the tape-delayed main event that
aired on Sept. 18. It did not take long for Petchmorakot to
establish dominance over his Swedish opponent through his far
superior striking skills. Petchmorakot dictated the pace of the
match until he decided to put an end to it in the third stanza. The
Thai fighter first landed a violent left hand that visibly shook
Andersson. Even though the Swedish contender made it through a
standing count, he could do nothing to prevent Petchmorakot’s coup
de grace in the form of a picture-perfect left hook.

The co-main event saw the fastest KO landed in One Super Series
kickboxing’s history in spectacular fashion. The bout pitted One
newcomers Capitan Petchyindee Academy and Petchtanong Petchfergus
against one another. It took a mere six seconds and one bomb of a
right hand to put Petchtanong out before his head clattered against
the canvas.

In the only MMA attraction on the bill, Sunisa
Srisan upended Rika
Ishige at the end of a tepid contest, where both women received
yellow cards because of their inactivity. Srisan won a unanimous
judges’ verdict.
Elsewhere, Felipe Lobo edged Yodpanomrung Jitmuangnon via split
decision in a muay Thai clash in One’s bantamweight division, and
Yurik Davtyan upset Bangpleenoi Petchyindee Academy a few seconds
into the Round 2 with a vicious KO in their featherweight muay Thai
battle.
