Two title belts will be up for grabs at Invicta Fighting
Championships 43.
The promotion announced Wednesday that Invicta FC 43 will be
headlined by a showdown for the vacant flyweight championship
between Pearl
Gonzalez and Erin
Blanchfield, while Emily
Ducote and Montserrat
Ruiz will vie for strawweight gold in the evening’s co-main
event.
Invicta FC 43 takes place on Nov. 20 in Kansas City and will stream
on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The event takes
place behind closed doors and will utilize open scoring. Additional
bouts will be announced in the coming weeks.
A two-time UFC veteran, Gonzalez previously challenged for the
flyweight crown at Invicta FC 34, where she fell to Vanessa
Porto via technical decision. “The Chi-Town Princess” rebounded
to outpoint Brogan
Walker-Sanchez at Invicta FC 37 before dropping a unanimous
verdict to Miranda
Maverick at Invicta FC 39.
Blanchfield has been victorious in six of her first seven
professional outings. Thus far in 2020, the Renzo Gracie
Jiu-Jitsu product has defeated Victoria
Leonardo via second-round head kick at Invicta FC 39 and earned
a three-round verdict over Walker-Sanchez at Invicta FC 41.
Ducote came up short in her first bid for flyweight gold, losing a
split decision against Kanako
Murata – who has since signed with the UFC — at Invicta FC 38.
She rebounded in her most recent appearance, taking a decision over
Juliana
Lima at Invicta FC 40.
Ruiz claimed her first promotional triumph at Invicta FC 41, where
she tapped out Janaisa
Morandin in the opening stanza of their headlining clash. The
Kings MMA product has been victorious in nine of her first 10
professional appearances, with her lone setback coming to Danielle
Taylor in her Invicta debut.
