Kulabdam Sor Destroys Sangmanee Klong at One ‘No Surrender 3’

The “No Surrender” trilogy is now complete.

The third part of One
Championship
’s return after the COVID-19 outbreak went down at
the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on Aug. 21.

The main event of
One Championship: No Surrender 3
featured Kulabdam Sor and
Sangmanee Klong SuanPluResort competing for a shot at Nong-O
Gaiyanghadao’s title in the second bantamweight semifinal of the
One Muay Thai tournament. Kulabdam did not need long to solve the
Sangmanee puzzle, as he rendered his opponent unconscious in the
opening stanza with a crisp left hook on the chin. Kulabdam
advanced to the Grand Prix final, where he will meet Saemapetch
Fairtex.

In the co-main event, Mongkolpetch Petchyindee Academy overcame Sok
Thy after three rounds of Muay Thai action in the flyweight
division. The judges rewarded Mongkolpetch with a unanimous
decision victory.

In the top MMA match on the card, Shannon
Wiratchai
welcomed French kickboxer and Muay Thai fighter
Fabio
Pinca
to the sport. Even though Wiratchai’s wrestling skills
were far superior than his opponent’s, Wiratchai chose to keep most
of the fight on feet, exploiting just from time to time his
opponent’s gaps. In the second stanza, the Thai fighter landed a
vicious spinning backfist that sent his opponent crashing to the
canvas, but Pinca survived. In the third round, the French
kickboxer made some late adjustments, but they were not enough to
overcome his foe. Eventually, Wiratchai took home a precious split
decision victory, which allowed him to return to the win column
after a four-bout skid.

Elsewhere, Wondergirl Fairtex made her successful One debut by
smashing Brooke Farrell in the opening stanza of their Muay Thai
battle; at strawweight, Marie
Ruumet
captured a unanimous decision over Little Tiger also
under Muay Thai rules.

The first clash on the bill saw Ben Royle
taking on Quitin
Thomas
in a featherweight MMA scrap. After a tepid opening
round, Royle landed a well-placed low kick that seemed to impact
Thomas’ knee partway through the second. Thomas endured to reach
the third round, but Royle’s pressure was too much for him. The end
of the fight saw Royle catching Thomas with an uppercut, and a
storm of follow-up punches and kicks put Thomas down.
