Sign up for ESPN+ right here, and you can then stream the UFC live on
your smart TV, computer, phone, tablet or streaming device via the
ESPN app. The
Ultimate Fighting Championship‘s “Fight Island” series of
events ends with
UFC on ESPN 14, and all 15 fights are official after the
weigh-ins.
The mixed martial arts card is headlined by a bout between former
middleweight champion Robert
Whittaker and Darren Till.
Despite the proud Australian losing to Israel
Adesanya in his last bout, Whittaker (20-5) is still one of the
division’s elite. Prior to dropping the championship, Whittaker was
on a nine-fight win streak that included notable names including
Ronaldo
Souza, Derek
Brunson and Yoel Romero
(twice). “Bobby Knuckles” had no issue making weight and came in at
186 pounds.
British striker Till (18-2-1) acclimated nicely in his middleweight
debut with a decision win over Kelvin
Gastelum. The former welterweight title challenger moved up
after suffering his only career defeats to Tyron
Woodley and Jorge
Masvidal. Till will look to get the biggest win in his career
against Whittaker, and “The Gorilla” also hit the middleweight
limit of 186 pounds.
One fighter did miss weight: Francisco
Trinaldo (160)*, who came in four pounds above the lightweight
cap. Trinaldo has been fined 30 percent of his purse, and the bout
will go ahead as a 160-pound catchweight contest.
UFC on ESPN 14 will air in its entirety on both ESPN and ESPN+. The
prelims start at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT, while the main card kicks off
at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
