A middleweight matchup pitting Yoel Romero against Uriah Hall is in the works for a UFC event on Aug. 22.
ESPN was first to report the bout, and MMAFighting.com later confirmed a date. The UFC card is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is also expected to include a women’s flyweight clash between Mariya Agapova and Shana Dobson.
Romero is currently on a three-bout skid that includes a unanimous decision defeat to Israel Adesanya in a middleweight championship bout at UFC 248 on March 7. Prior to that skid, “The Soldier of God” began his promotional tenure with victories in nine of his first 10 outings.
Hall, meanwhile, has been victorious in three of his last four Octagon appearances. Most recently, the 35-year-old known as “Primetime” garnered a split verdict over Antonio Carlos Jr. at UFC Fight Night 158 this past September. He was supposed to face Ronaldo Souza at UFC 249 on May 9, but the bout was scrapped after “Jacare” tested positive for COVID-19.
