It’s time for Norman Parke to step back in the KSW cage once again, and for the second time in a row it will be against a former champion. The Northern Ireland native will square off with Artur Sowinski in a 163-pound catchweight bout at KSW 49 on May 18.
Parke (26-6-1) is coming off a victory over former KSW welterweight champion Borys Mankowski via unanimous decision at KSW 47. After suffering a nasty cut in the first round, Parke got back on track in the second and third stanzas, winning a unanimous decision in front of a partisan crowd at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland. With that victory, Parke ran his record since leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship to 5-1 with one no-contest.

Now the winner of “The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes” will lock horns with former KSW featherweight champion Artur Sowinski. The 32-year-old made his promotional debut back at KSW 14 in 2010, losing by decision to Danny van Bergen, but has gone on to amass a record of 9-6 under the KSW banner with one no-contest. In his most recent fight at KSW 46, he defeated Kamil Szymuszowski in a 155-pound contest.
KSW 49 takes place at Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland on May 18, and is headlined by a rematch between Michal Materla (27-6) and Scott Askham (17-4) for the vacant KSW middleweight title. Roberto Soldic (15-3) will put his welterweight title on the line in the co-main event against the undefeated Krystian Kaszubowski (7-0).
