Report: UFC Fighter Darren Till Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Taxi, Trashing Hotel in Canary Islands

Former UFC title challenger Darren Till was recently arrested in the Canary Islands, according to multiple reports.

According to the Daily Mail, Till and four other unidentified individuals from England were allegedly arrested in Tenerife, the largest island of the Canary Islands located off the northwest coast of Africa, for allegedly destroying a hotel room and stealing a taxi as the cab driver loaded their luggage into the trunk. Spanish outlet El Dia first reported the incident.

Till and his group were reportedly staying in one hotel until they were kicked out for breaking furniture and emptying fire extinguishers. They then went to another hotel but were not allowed to stay. When a cab came to pick them up, Till and the others allegedly sped off in the vehicle as the trunk was being loaded.

The group was reportedly arrested in the Costa Adeje area by police on Thursday morning.

A native of Liverpool, England, Till last last appeared at UFC Fight Night 147, where he suffered a second-round knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal in the evening’s main event on March 16. The 26-year-old known as “The Gorilla” was unbeaten in his first 18 professional bouts, setting up a 170-pound title shot against Tyron Woodley at UFC 228. Till fell to Woodley via second-round submission and then lost his second straight fight in the aforemention contest against Masvidal.
