Just two weeks before The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters Finale on Nov. 30, the event has been shaken up once again, losing a solid matchup after Arnold Allen suffered an injury.
Nolan King of FloCombat broke the news Friday morning, reporting that Allen has been forced to withdraw from his featherweight bout against Rick Glenn due to a laceration received during training. The Ultimate Fighting Championship has not yet announced if they intend to seek a replacement for the matchup.
Allen’s original opponent in this contest was Gilbert Melendez, who was forced to withdraw due to an injury of his own and was replaced by Glenn. Allen (13-1) is undefeated inside the Octagon, with the Brit going 4-0 since 2015 including two third-round Performance of the Night-winning guillotine chokes.
His opponent, former World Series of Fighting featherweight champion Glenn (21-5-1), who might still remain on the card, bounced back from a 2017 loss to Myles Jury with a split decision win this year over Dennis Bermudez.
The TUF 28 Finale is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Kamaru Usman and Rafael dos Anjos on Nov. 30, 2018 at the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Also on the card will be the TUF 28 finale bouts for both the heavyweight and women’s featherweight divisions.
