Legacy Fighting Alliance flyweight champion Sabina Mazo has been pulled her main event bout at LFA 51 this weekend after her opponent Jaimee Nievera announced she was injured on Thursday.
Mazo (5-0) was initially set to defend her flyweight title against Nievera (7-4) on Friday night, but an undisclosed injury forced the challenger out of the fight. The undefeated champion praised LFA for working tirelessly for a replacement opponent, but they were unable to do so in such a short amount of time:
My opponent unfortunately got injured in fight week. @lfafighting did an amazing job to try to find opponent but with such short notice, they couldn’t find. I am more than ready and things don’t change I just keep working for the next one! Thanks to the support @kings_mma pic.twitter.com/yp5R7k8Wzr

“The Colombian Queen” won the flyweight belt after defeating Shannon Sinn by unanimous decision in April, and Nievera was supposed to be her first title defense. LFA announced the injury and scrapped title fight on Thursday, just two days before fight night.
Original co-main event fighters Cody Gibson (15-7) and Gustavo Erak (19-3-1) have been promoted to the main event in their place. LFA 51 takes place in Fresno, California on Saturday and the main card will air live on AXS TV.
